Therapy should be a space where you can show up as you are: messy thoughts, big feelings, unanswered questions, and all. As the eldest child of Taiwanese and Korean immigrants, I know firsthand what it’s like to feel pulled between family expectations and your own identity, to wonder who you’re supposed to become, and to feel like you have to figure it all out by yourself. I became a therapist because I believe you don’t have to choose between honoring your family and being yourself, and that you shouldn’t have to navigate these questions alone. I bring years of experience working with BIPOC individuals, particularly those in the Asian diaspora. I’ve lived the cultural tensions, unspoken expectations, and quiet resilience that shape so many of our stories. I’m also conversational in Mandarin Chinese and Korean, and while I don’t offer full sessions in those languages, I’m happy to bring them into the room when it helps you feel more at home in our work together. My style is warm, collaborative, and guided by a gentle curiosity. Drawing from narrative therapy, ACT, CBT, and psychodynamic theory, I’ll help you notice what’s been growing quietly beneath the surface and what might need more care. Together we can make sense of your experiences and the identities you hold, untangle the stories you’ve inherited, and create space for something new to emerge — with compassion, clarity, and even moments of laughter.
