Introduction

Hi, I’m Terry — or formally, Theresa Goldstein — a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in California. Clients who work with me might struggle with or are navigating life’s messier seasons — living with chronic illness or autoimmune conditions, adjusting to parenthood, healing from trauma, exploring identity, managing OCD or phobias, or trying to date and build meaningful connections in today’s world. My clients are adults, teens, and college students who often come to me feeling anxious, overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. Together, we slow things down and find ways to feel more grounded, connected, and hopeful. I’m trained in EMDR (Phases I & II) and ERP/I-CBT, and I also offer Expressive Arts Therapy — a gentle, “bottom-up” approach that uses creativity to process emotions when words aren’t enough. When we create, our body receives the message that we are safe, allowing us to more deeply process our experiences and release what we’ve been carrying. Before private practice, I worked as a school counselor, supported Alzheimer’s and dementia clients and their families, provided infant and maternal mental health services, worked with children, teens, adults, and facilitated a number of therapy groups. I’ve had the privilege of supporting people across the lifespan, and I truly love meeting clients where they are — whether you’re a college student navigating independence, a parent balancing endless roles, or someone reimagining life after loss or change. My therapy style is warm, collaborative, and integrative. You bring your story, your goals, and your lived experience — I’ll bring curiosity, compassion, and tools to help you find relief and clarity. I’d be honored to walk alongside you. Feel free to reach out for a phone consultation or book a session today.
