Tamra Rigdon, LSW, LAC I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) under the supervision of a Clinical Therapist in the State of Indiana. I bring over a decade of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals and families navigating mental health challenges, trauma, and addiction recovery. My professional journey began from a deeply personal place. In 2014, following my son’s injury from an IED, I spent months at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as his caregiver. During that time, I connected with wounded warriors, their families, and medical professionals, attending mental health trainings and learning firsthand the power of skilled, empathetic support. Inspired by those experiences, I began volunteering with Give an Hour, offering free counseling to veterans, caregivers, and emergency service personnel. My work quickly expanded to serving broader populations, including individuals facing addiction and complex mental health needs. Since then, I have worked in community organizations, nonprofit settings, and private practice, developing a reputation for warmth, professionalism, and an ability to help clients feel truly heard. I am trained in the Matrix Model and certified to provide Prime for Life education, offering services that include individual therapy, group therapy, Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP), parenting classes, and mediation. My therapeutic approach blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, client-centered techniques, and strength-based methods. I specialize in working with adults 13 and older, veterans, caregivers, and first responders. I am committed to creating a safe, welcoming environment where clients can heal, grow, and build lasting positive change. I currently offer direct-pay services with a sliding scale for low-income clients and may negotiate rates to match a copay if insurance is not accepted. I am accepting new clients and look forward to helping individuals take the next steps toward recovery, resilience, and personal empowerment.
