Introduction

I moved to Arizona 28 years ago from Fargo, ND leaving 100 inches of snow behind. The valley has been my home ever since. My husband and I have three kids together, ages 18, 21, and 22 and I have two amazing, grown step-children. I have worked as a therapist in AZ since 1998 in community mental health, mobile crisis teams and with the family and juvenile court systems. I have been in private practice now for over 20 years. Believe me, I have seen and heard it all. ​ Do you barely remember life before "that thing" happened? Are you living with fear or guilt? Exhausted from trying to manage what people think of you, how you feel, what you've done, or who you are? Just exhausted in general?
