My work as a therapist is guided by the humanist theory that people can heal and grow if they have assistance that is genuine, empathetic, and accepting. I believe that when we accept ourselves exactly as we are, then we can find the strength to change behaviors that are not serving us. I specialize in working with people who have substance use, anxiety, depression, and interpersonal conflict issues. The approaches I use are informed by dialectic behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, positive psychology, attachment theory, and family systems theory. I work with clients who are struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD. I also work with couples who are struggling with relationship issues that stem from problems with communication and/or trust. Sometimes unhealthy coping patterns include problematic drug and alcohol use. We can address this and find healthier coping skills that work. Reaching out for help is the first step towards finding a more balanced and peaceful life. I would be honored to join you on that journey. Let's talk!
