Hi, I’m Shemika Whiteside, LCSW, and I’m so glad you’re here. I started this work because I believe deeply in the transformative power of being heard, affirmed, and supported—especially during life’s most tender transitions. My path into clinical social work was shaped by witnessing the gaps in care for women and families, particularly during the perinatal period. I knew I wanted to be part of the solution: offering more inclusive, affirming mental health care that recognizes the whole person. I specialize in perinatal and maternal mental health, with a focus on supporting individuals navigating postpartum depression and anxiety, birth trauma, and identity shifts during parenthood. I also work closely with those experiencing high-functioning anxiety, life transitions, and burnout—because healing isn't just about crisis, it's about creating space for sustainable wholeness. In our work together, we’ll slow down, get curious, and build insight without judgment. My style is warm, relational, and practical—grounded in real life, real challenges, and real growth. Whether we’re untangling thought patterns, developing coping tools, or simply sitting in the hard stuff together, my goal is to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered. Therapy isn't about fixing you—because you're not broken. It's about creating a space where you can breathe, recalibrate, and reconnect with your voice and values. You're the expert in your own story—I'm just here to help you turn the page with clarity and compassion. I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
