Hi, I’m Sharlyn McGary, a Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for supporting adolescents, women, and families through life’s transitions. I spent 20 years as an educator before becoming a therapist, and that experience taught me how to connect with young people and understand the real challenges families face in school, at home, and in their communities. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University (2023) and a Bachelor’s in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston–Clear Lake (2005). My therapeutic approach draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. These modalities help clients manage emotions, develop practical coping strategies, and take meaningful steps toward change. I believe you are the expert of your own experience and the master of your own destiny. My goal is to walk with you through your healing process—helping you move from simply surviving to confidently thriving.
