Introduction

We all can lose our way in the dark. Life struggles can become so overwhelming as we do what we can to survive. We’ve felt lost in the dark too. We’ve felt like hiding in the darkness of our shame while struggling with trauma, depression, anxiety and grief. We’ve felt alone and used isolation as a false sense of protection. Just because we have some letters behind our names doesn’t mean we ignore our own journey of healing and hope in our work as helpers. Our own resiliency serves as a powerful reminder that understanding your past is not merely an act of reflection, but a crucial step in healing. Therefore, we emphasize the profound importance of recognizing "how you got here." Our mission is to guide folks in recognizing their ability to thrive while helping them discover new ways to achieve inner peace, belonging and safety. More Details on Services At Porchlight, we are here to walk alongside you, offering support, insight, and a safe space to explore and grow, ultimately leading you toward a life of greater balance, joy, and connection. We work with all ages but recognize how survival mode has a significant impact on a child’s development. We are committed to reaching children and families who are having a terrible time. We use Trust Based Relational Interventions (TBRI) in our work with children and families. TBRI® is an attachment-based, trauma-informed intervention that is designed to meet the complex needs of vulnerable children. What we love most about TBRI is that it prioritizes connection. We want to connect with you and your family. The work requires grit but we also understand therapy should be fun for children. We are all grandparents (as it turns out) and we are thrilled to learn and share what we did not know as parents. We also bring a sense of adventure in our work with children. We believe getting home when the porchlight comes on is a good thing. Outdoor play is a good thing. Our office is a barn (don’t worry, there’s climate control) and we have over twenty acres to use for play, art and outdoor activities during therapy. We hope to use animals in our work real soon…actually, we can hardly wait! We are a growing practice with therapists who draw from a number of modalities including CBT, DBT, IFS and EMDR in our work with adults and families. We offer in person, telehealth and in home services for our older neighbors in the community. We also offer trauma processing groups and boundary groups for adults. We want to connect with you. Things are not so far gone. It’s a brave decision to decide you deserve more. We already believe in you. We believe you have made it this far. We believe what you've been through matters. We believe you matter.
