When we find ourselves in a whirlwind, losing our sense of direction, we may lose connection to the part of us that knows what to do and where to go. We may find ourselves losing the battle with relentless looping thoughts, struggling to care for ourselves while staying connected to others. There may be parts of our story that we would like to disown. Losing trust in ourselves, we become disconnected from our hearts, confused by our own minds, and afraid to face what is next in life. I believe we inherently have everything we need to navigate our journey. As we begin to activate what is already within us—our courage, our compassion, our clarity—we start to relate to our story differently and find what is golden about it. Through the power of self-compassion, healing becomes not a project of fixing, but of befriending. The habits or patterns that once served as survival tools can be gently retired, making space for more expansive ways of living. Rather than falling back on defenses, or behaviors that may help individuals survive moments, I value helping them to fully live moments. Emotions become guides, not intruders. Stories become teachers, not burdens. I see it as a great privilege to support individuals as they feel "at home" in themselves.
