Introduction

From the desk of Ron Huxley… Hello and welcome to my practice. My heart is to see families healed using modern neuroscience techniques alongside traditional mental health approaches in a compassionate and practical manner. My Focus I specialize in trauma and family systems issues for both children and adults. My practice offers both online and in-person options to meet your needs. Scheduling Options Tuesday/Wednesday: In-person sessions available at my San Luis Obispo office Monday-Thursday: Telehealth sessions via video or phone Monday/Thursday: Telehealth only Organizational Services I provide trauma-informed therapy for organizations, having worked with social service agencies, charter schools, churches, coalitions, and private industry to share trauma-sensitive practices that increase skills and promote self-care principles. My Approach to Healing I believe in taking a strength-based approach that builds on solutions. I believe that "the person is not the problem, the problem is the problem," and we can create strategies that fit each family situation in the shortest time necessary. For families seeking inner healing and biblical counsel, I offer a faith-based approach to addressing challenges. Three Core Healing Strategies for Trauma Calm down the reactive brain and body Increase competencies and capacity Deepen connections with healthy people Evidence-Based Practices I utilize traditional mental health and evidence-based practices, including: EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique/Tapping) I incorporate the latest neuroscience and attachment theory research to address C-PTSD (Complex-Posttraumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety disorders, developmental trauma, depression, relationship challenges, and more. Faith-Based Services I also work with faith-based organizations and churches, providing spiritual direction and pastoral counseling. Thank you for allowing me to work with you!
