MY JOURNEY. I became a therapist because at a very young age I felt an innate aspiration to be of service. Growing up in an untraditional household and in an inner city, I know firsthand the struggles and challenges that individuals, couples, and families are faced with. I’m certain that my life experiences and my professional skills make a purposeful balance to help others achieve a sense of peace. MY CLIENTS. I work with individuals struggling with stress, personal issues, and life transitions. I specialize in anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, and trauma. Most of my clients simply need a listening ear and a welcoming space to vent without being judged. They are motivated to improve, but need someone who believes in them for guidance, encouragement, support and constructive feedback. MY APPROACH. In my practice, I use EMDR, Mindfulness, Reality Therapy, Strengths-Based, and Solution-Focused Therapy. EMDR is used to treat trauma and emotional disturbances. EMDR is a relatively fast-acting therapy with significant and scientifically proven improvement. Some studies have shown that 100% of single-trauma victims and 80% of multiple trauma victims were no longer diagnosed with PTSD after six 50-minute sessions of EMDR therapy. Through these approaches, clients gain confidence, a sense of control, and healthy coping skills to move forward with life. MY STYLE. During sessions with me, you can expect warmth, humor, professionalism, and care. My style of therapy is through spirituality, authenticity, transparency, and through metaphors. Healing will take work, so we will go at your pace, and I will genuinely enjoy being there for you every step of the way. MY GOALS FOR YOU. My approach to goal setting starts with flexibility, exploring all options, defining the pros and cons, and utilizing all available tools and resources. Together, we will sort out your thoughts and co-create the best plan that works for you. MY FIRST SESSION WITH YOU. The first couple of sessions will be for us to begin a trusting relationship. Along the way, we will unpack your concerns, your experiences, and the circumstances that encouraged you to seek therapy.
