Regina is passionate about helping individuals and families reach greater self-acceptance and fulfillment. Her starting point is- what does this person or family deeply want and how can they feel free to speak about what is most true for them? She finds that authenticity, warmth, and humor go a long way toward creating that safe space. Her approach is active, and outcomes focused. She is bilingual in English and Spanish, and specializes in work with adolescents, young adults, individuals, and families coping with stressors such as acculturation, grief and loss, and trauma; and individuals launching into independence or figuring out their sexual, gender, and cultural identities. Regina has served young people and families in Montgomery County Public Schools, Montgomery County Behavioral Health and Crisis Services (BHCS), and private practice. She received her master’s degree at The Catholic University of America followed by training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as in family and expressive therapies at the Philadelphia Child and Family Therapy Training Center and at the Starbright Training Institute in Fairfax, VA. She brings clinical supervision, coaching, and leadership development skills from years of public service as Deputy Chief of BHCS. She is a licensed clinical social worker and Maryland certified clinical supervisor with over 25 years’ experience in trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral, expressive, and family systems therapies. Regina believes that individuals naturally incline toward wholeness and can clear obstacles to find greater peace and joy in life.
