Introduction

Michael is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional He received his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Governors State University. He brings with him a diverse history including many years of experience in the firefighting/emergency medical services as a firefighter/paramedic. In addition, Michael has over a decade of experience teaching at the college level. Michael’s theoretical approach includes elements of cognitive-behavioral and rational-emotive behavioral therapies with a strong emphasis on mindfulness meditation. His experience allows him to connect with first responders, veterans, students, couples, and individuals through trauma-informed care. He has experience working in in-patient behavioral health facilities, community mental health, and mental health counseling with students in a college setting.
