Introduction

Often people struggle with anxiety and depression, not realizing the overwhelming weight of life experiences. Experiences that can distort one’s perception of self-worth, eroding confidence, and self-esteem leading them to believe they are not worthy of love, happiness, or success. The lasting effects of life experiences can manifest in struggles in relationships and life. Feelings of shame, guilt, and inadequacy reinforce the false belief that we are inherently flawed or undeserving. Overcoming this deeply ingrained notion requires compassionate support. We know life experiences impact every facet of an individual’s being—body, mind, and spirit. Driven by a passion to empower individuals to overcome the "ashes" of life and embrace a life of abundance, in my late 40s I embarked on a transformative journey of my own and returned to college. I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in counseling and then Magna Cum Laude with an MA in Clinical Pastoral Counseling from Colorado Theological Seminary. I have 27 years of teaching, mentoring, public speaking, youth, and women's ministry, as well as layman and professional counseling and coaching experience. I wrote an in-depth curriculum to help people find their Spiritual Gifts and use them in and outside the Church. This curriculum published as an interactive workbook in March 2024. Trauma Counseling can be an effective tool in providing you with the necessary support and training to overcome the challenges you face. By seeking help, you are taking responsibility and action to change what no longer works in your life. Many studies have shown throughout the years that Counseling is an effective form of treating and managing mental illnesses and other emotional disorders. As an experienced Clinical Pastoral Counselor, it is my honor to assist you in exploring your core issues and move toward a healthy, fulfilling life. Utilizing a variety of approaches in Spiritual counseling including EMDR and Attachment based Counseling. I believe my passion for my work shines through every interaction, in a trauma-informed and attachment-centered approach, I help clients find hope and restoration moving from a life of surviving to thriving. www.MelonyKolody.com
