Dr. Steinberg has a profound commitment to advocacy, helping families heal, and fostering understanding in complex court cases and legislative efforts. Dr. Steinberg is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), with advanced degrees in Clinical Psychology. She is the author of the acclaimed book "You’re Not Crazy: Overcoming Parent/Child Alienation", a guide for navigating the court system as an alienated parent. As the first professional to successfully use coercive control laws in parental alienation cases, Dr. Steinberg set a legal precedent in California in 2020. Her expertise has been sought in family, civil, and criminal courts across the United States and internationally. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Lynn Steinberg conducts therapeutic reunification programs, provides mediation services, and delivers training for professionals on topics such as parental alienation and psychological abuse. She is also a passionate advocate for legislative reform and works on changing child abuse laws to include parental alienation as psychological abuse.
