Hi, I’m Lisa. I work with individuals and couples in all kinds of relationship distress. Whether you’re struggling in your partnership, are feeling disconnected from those around you, or find yourself arguing with your kids more than you’d like, I’d love to help. When our ways of communicating and connecting with those we love break down, our whole world can go sideways. My role is to listen without the old hurts and fears and to help partners and individual clients hear new things in the same old messages they’ve been hashing out. Some of my most memorable times in sessions have been when one partner turns to the other with new freshness and curiosity. Or when an individual client recognizes the love and support their friends have been trying to show all along. My training is in Existential therapy – asking and addressing the big questions: Why am I here? Where do I find purpose and meaning? What matters to me and how do I stay connected with it? I also have training and experience working with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which helps us hone in on the emotions and vulnerabilities behind our actions, to better understand ourselves and those dearest to us. I am Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) trained, which helps clients practice new skills to regulate overwhelming emotions. Finally, I have training in parts work (Internal Family Systems). I love doing this work because every day I get to witness my clients risking the vulnerability to put themselves out there and let themselves be seen. If any of this sounds like it might provide good support for what you’re going through, I hope you’ll reach out. I would love to book a session or am happy to offer a free consultation call for us to discuss what working together might look like and for me to answer your questions.
