"You’re not broken, you’re just human.” I’m Lisa, a Licensed Professional Counselor and National Certified Counselor who uses a mix of evidence-based approaches tailored to you, along with specialized training in EMDR and IFS (Internal family systems). I help adults navigate challenges such as trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship stress, life transitions and substance use concerns. My style is compassionate, straightforward, and sometimes sprinkled with humor, because therapy works best when it feels human. I also collaborate with Yale University on research for alcohol use disorder, keeping my work grounded in the latest science and real-world results and staying current on the most effective ways to help. I have degrees from Northwestern University (M.A., Clinical Mental Health Counseling) and Wellesley College (B.A., Psychology). Before becoming a therapist, I worked in television news, where I learned to listen deeply and tell stories with empathy. Later, while working in social services, I realized those same skills could help people create meaningful change, which led me back to school to focus on psychology and counseling. If you’re ready for honest conversations in a safe, judgment-free space, I’m ready to meet you there.
