Introduction

Linzay Manuel (she/her) is a compassionate and dedicated counseling intern pursuing her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology at Benedictine University, with an expected graduation in 2025. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication from the University of South Africa and brings over a decade of experience working with children 3+, adolescents, and families in various therapeutic and educational settings. Linzay’s professional experience spans roles as a Registered Behavior Technician, paraprofessional, and childcare provider, where she developed a strong foundation in supporting both neurotypical and neurodivergent individuals. Her work with children on the Autism Spectrum, as well as those with ADHD and emotional or behavioral challenges, has honed her skills in Applied Behavior Analysis, behavior modification, and crisis intervention. She is proficient in implementing behavior intervention plans, utilizing verbal de-escalation strategies, and teaching coping skills to foster emotional regulation and behavioral growth. In addition to her clinical experience, Linzay’s academic coursework has equipped her with knowledge in play therapy, childhood behavior disorders, human development, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy techniques. She is passionate about creating a safe, supportive, and nurturing therapeutic environment where children and adolescents can build confidence, resilience, and emotional well-being. Linzay believes in a collaborative, client-centered approach, emphasizing strong interpersonal communication and trust-building to meet each individual’s unique needs. Her warm, intuitive, and organized nature allows her to connect deeply with clients and their families while promoting positive growth. As a counseling intern at Konick and Associates, Linzay is excited to further develop her clinical skills and contribute her expertise to help children and adolescents thrive. She is committed to empowering individuals and fostering meaningful change in their lives through compassionate, evidence-based care.
