Introduction

My name is Laura Cox and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida with experience in individual and couples therapy. I have been a therapist for over 20 years. My practice name is Driftwood and Dawn Therapy. Why such a dreamy (somewhat surf shop inspired) name? As a social worker I am focused on how we are shaped by our experiences; much like driftwood, we are formed and sometimes hardened by our environment and experiences in life. Dawn represents renewal and opportunity as sunrise marks the new day. I have learned through my relationship with nature that we are more than our experiences. I am a Florida native and love the beaches and ocean. I explore above and below the water and find that true peace starts when you silence the noise and reconnect with yourself. We all have a story; I look forward to hearing yours and working with you to find the peace and prosperity that you deserve in a busy and often stressful world.
