Hello and welcome to my website. I am a private practice psychotherapist, offering in-person therapy as well as teletherapy. I am a warm, grounded, and accepting therapist and all are welcome here. I work psychodynamically, and relationally, which basically means that as trust builds within our therapeutic relationship, the opportunity to understand oneself at a deeper level expands. Through the therapeutic relationship, with awareness, questioning, and taking chances, the client’s ability to begin trusting in themselves grows. This results in a growing “inner knowing,” seeing how they process life, understanding their path forward, and knowing what they want and need. For most people, significant past relationships leave a lasting impact. Depending on the nature of the relationships, these impacts end up influencing their lives in the present moment. Therapy can help uncover what needs tending to in order to move forward. Therapy may feel contentious at times as difficult past relationships get worked out in the therapy room. All is in service of helping the client better understand, have compassion for, and be in connection with themselves. Fees and Insurance I am a private-pay therapist with the exception of one insurance company. I am in-network with Aetna Insurance. For other insurance plans, I am considered an out of network provider. You can check with your insurance company to see if you have out of network benefits. If so, I will provide you with a monthly statement which may be helpful for you in receiving partial reimbursement from your insurance company. I am allied with the Racial Justice community. I recognize the deep roots and impact that white supremacy has on our country and strive to counteract this effect in my practice. I embrace the stance of cultural humility and recognize my efforts towards anti-racism, anti-oppression, multiculturalism, and inclusivity must be an ongoing effort of mine, especially in the treatment of trauma. I am also allied with the Non-Binary and LGBTQIA+ communities. I’m mindful of the history of physical, sexual and psychological oppression of individuals in these communities over time and place. I take a stance of cultural humility, avow that cultural competence is an ongoing process, and commit to continued education on these issues.
