Introduction

I believe people have an amazing capacity to learn and heal when offered an emotionally safe environment where they feel seen and understood. I invite you to explore the places you feel stuck and the hopes and dreams you’d like to move towards. Together, we can work on ways to more easily navigate internal blocks, space to connect with your inner knowing, and tools and practices to assist you on this sometimes twisty, turny road called life. My approach is down-to-earth and interactive, making space for your thoughts and feelings without being “blank slate.” With more than two decades of experience, I integrate talk therapy infused with more somatic (mind-body) awareness. I draw from the fields of mindfulness and mindful self-compassion, neuroscience, nervous system understanding, and research on well-being and resilience. In a supportive, non-judgmental environment, I help people more easily navigate anxiety, stress, and life transitions of all kinds. I am also particularly drawn to supporting women through life stage transitions and crossroads, including pregnancy, new parenthood, and perimenopause. I have both advanced training in perinatal mental health through Postpartum Support International and midlife women’s wellness through the Polyvagal Institute. Currently, I am continuing to develop my clinical skills through Brainspotting training. (An approach I will be offering new clients this Fall.) For more detailed information about my practice, how I work, and how I might be of help, I invite you to visit my website at www.kindrabernardtherapy.com.
