I am currently working as a psychology extern under the supervision of Dr. Aaron P. Jackson while obtaining a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from Brigham Young University. Under his supervision, I meet with Dr. Jackson weekly and receive necessary and important consultation and instruction informed by his years of expertise. My approach and theoretical orientation is informed by Relational-Cultural Therapy as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy supplemented by humanistic/psychodynamic approaches. In my work with couples, I draw from Family Systems Theory. I also have training in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy. I believe that genuine psychological and emotional healing are possible and that growth is fostered by connection, accountability, and compassion. I feel that it is important to tailor the therapeutic experience to each unique individual, and I believe that the therapeutic process is one that ought to operate on authentic premises on both the ends of the client and the provider. My goal is to help my clients have better relationships with themselves and others, foster deeper insight and purpose, and confidently contribute to that which they find meaningful in their lives. I am originally from Washington State, but I have been in the Utah Valley Area since 2017. I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from BYU, and I am currently working on research about sexual health, intimacy, marriage, emotionality, and autonomy. I enjoy writing, reading, gardening and spending time with my husband.
