I am committed to supporting individuals as they cope with challenging life experiences, identify patterns of thought and behavior that may no longer serve, deepen insight into the self, and reduce the burden of individual and collective trauma on the psyche. Common concerns include depression, anxiety, identity/life transitions, the impact of trauma, whether single-event or chronic developmental wounding, adjusting to parenthood, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, and sensitive care for individuals experiencing infertility, pregnancy loss, and for those choosing or needing to terminate a pregnancy. Therapy with me is warm, collaborative, and client-focused, drawing from attachment theory, psychodynamics, cognitive behavioral therapy, parts work, EMDR, and trauma-sensitive mindfulness. I believe in the power of relational connection in therapy, in telling our stories, and being heard by a non-judgmental, compassionate other. I balance a practical, one-step-at-a-time approach, with the deeper, often more theoretical work of self-discovery. Your needs, goals, and values create the guide to our work together. My education has provided me with solid grounding in evidence-based treatment modalities like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Dialectic-Behavioral Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy; and my experience has made me aware of the complexity of the evidence base itself, with its grounding in oppressive and exclusive mental health practices. I am a lifelong student and am committed to continually building my skills related to anti-oppressive mental health care. I strive to work from a place of cultural humility, non-judgment, openness, and curiosity. I am gender-affirming, weight-neutral, and welcome people from diverse backgrounds. I received my Master's degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Washington in 2008, and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the State of Washington. My license# is: LW60271798. I completed basic training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) through the River's Edge Institute, for the treatment of trauma-related symptoms (2021), and advanced training in EMDR for perinatal mental health through the Institute of Creative Mindfulness (2022). I am currently in the process of becoming certified in EMDR. The fees listed below are my private pay fees. I am also newly credentialed with a number of insurance companies and use Headway for insurance billing. If you are interested in using your insurance benefits for care, please visit https://headway.co/ to check your benefits and see if you will be able to use your in-network or out of network benefits for our sessions. Currently, I provide therapy via telehealth to adults residing in Washington State.
