Kay is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and Mental Health Practitioner with over 10 years of practice in the social work field. Kay completed her Bachelor's of Science in Social Work in 2014, then went on to attain her master's degree in social work at the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2016. During her master’s practicum at CHI Health, Kay provided individual and group therapy to older adult patients receiving acute psychiatric care. Before starting her own practice, Kay worked at the Department of Veterans Affairs providing case management and behavioral health care to veterans and their caregivers. Since becoming a mother herself in 2022, Kay has become passionate about the unique mental health needs and challenges that emerge during pregnancy and postpartum. Kay has over 20 hours of specialized training specific to this population and will soon attain her Certification as a Perinatal Mental Health Provider Kay describes her therapy style as “easy going and natural.” Kay believes in creating a safe, welcoming space for clients to be their authentic selves and feel confident sharing their story. Kay utilizes evidence-based treatment modalities including Interpersonal Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Internal Systems Theory.
