Hi there, my name is Jacqueline Perez and I am a queer, Latinx, trauma-informed therapist based in Los Angeles, CA! I love working with the LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities which has deeply influenced my passion for offering an affirming and safe space in session. I typically help clients find their spark again! Circumstances such as trauma, life transitions, family conflict, community shifts and/or sociopolitical issues can have an impact on our mental health. When these strains become constant or reoccurring, it can lead to more serious mental health problems like depression, anxiety, or PTSD. My role as your therapist is to help you navigate these events in a way that allows you to live your life again. I can help you find tools to better manage life's stressors and cultivate a life that is balanced and worth living! I will work with you to identify your strengths to highlight your resiliency. I use an intersectional lens to create a treatment plan that is specific to each person's needs. People of color have had to adapt and develop strategies of survival to endure marginalization and historical trauma. Let’s decolonize and reclaim the therapeutic space together! I use an integrative approach, these are the theoretical frameworks I pull from: CBT, TF-CBT, CPT, Narrative, Strength-Based, Humanistic and Feminist Therapy. You will catch me creatively sprinkling in some play, art, and writing as tools in therapy. Start your therapy journey by emailing me to schedule a free consultation. Let's chat!
