I have been in the field for over a decade now and have a variety of experience. Before being licensed, I performed well over 2000+ new client intakes in the community mental health system. I worked in various settings as an intern across the spectrum of severity in the fields of mental health, clinical social work, leading substance abuse/men's/veteran groups etc., and worked for 3 years as a tobacco quit coach. For the last 8 years I have been primarily working in individual behavioral health therapy for my private practice. Typically I use mindfulness & behavioral therapy techniques to help people who are suffering or trying to improve their functioning/performance/situation. Collaboratively we can develop a treatment plan, and I will tailor my treatment to your needs. I like to provide visual aids like handouts and references to sources to assist and explain concepts when needed or requested. Sources referenced usually consist of CBT, DBT, philosophy, & behavioral strategies that are designed to help cope with stress, communicate more effectively, etc., may be useful tools to refer to, help remember & refer to later, and add structure to your treatment plan.
