Introduction

I am Elizabeth and I have been practicing in the field of mental health since 2008. I worked with adolescents for the first 10 years of my career and have transitioned into working with adults in recent years. I have been licensed as a Mental Health counselor since 2022 and started my private practice in 2023. I am passionate about alcohol and substance related issues, and I primarily worked with drug court and DUI clients for the first half of my career. However, I also recognize that addiction can manifest in many ways such as food, gambling, social media, pornography, and more. I have a casual and open-minded approach to the therapeutic process. I know that this process can be intimidating so it's important to me that my clients feel comfortable and relaxed. I tend to be a very linear thinker, and I work diligently to try to help my clients see things from a different perspective. Cognitive Behavior Therapy is my favorite therapeutic approach. CBT explained simply, means that we work together to alter your perspective so that you can also change the narrative of your story to one that is more conducive to a happy and productive life. I like to let my clients lead their sessions. I will work to ensure that my clients are able to maintain some focused overall goal, but I also believe that all of the small day to day issues can be tied into the overall goal.
