Introduction

My name is Eileen Evind and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and sole owner/operator of my private practice Alchemical Counseling Services in Santa Rosa, Ca. I have a wide range of experiences, trainings, practices and mixture of specialties that spans all ages from birth to elder. My core values as a therapist are safety, trust, ethical practice, and competent care that places my clients at the center of their own treatment in order to empower them to explore their most authentic self and find freedom from chronic suffering. In my work with adults our first steps are always the most important which is to establish safety and trust within the therapeutic relationship. Without these fundamental pieces to human relationship and attachment very little to no progress will occur, regardless of whatever fancy interventions might be utilized. Within our first few sessions I will conduct a comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment to better understand the struggles you are presenting with and will collaborate with you on a diagnosis that feels most fitting as well as your personal goals for treatment. From there your treatment is built out of those assessed issues and may include a variety of interventions that are tailored to your specific needs. In addition to working with adults I also have extensive training and experience in working with children, teens, parents, and families within a psychoanalytic/psychodynamic framework that includes individual therapy as well as parent support sessions. This work is always focused around supporting the child in the successful engagement of their current psycho-social developmental tasks, increasing skills in self-expression, and creating secure attachment with safe adults in their lives. For younger children ages 0-5 years I utilize Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) in which the treatment is focused on restoring secure attachment between the child and their parent(s)/caregiver(s) while working through the various trauma/s that the child, and often the parent themselves has gone through. Regardless of the age of my client and the specific struggles that they bring into my office, the heart of the treatment that I provide is always the same. My goal is always to guide my clients to a place in which they are equipped with the knowledge, tools, resources, and confidence to take their life (and their children's lives) into their own hands and continue the beautiful and exhausting journey of the evolution of the self.
