Welcome! My name is Dr. J (she/her) and I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist dedicated to helping individuals from BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities improve their well-being. Being Black, Brown, Queer, or Gender Expansive in systems that weren’t built for us brings a special set of challenges. Whether you’re trying to navigate minority stress, heal from trauma (personal or cultural), or reconnect with parts of yourself that have been pushed aside, you don't have to walk this journey alone. I'm passionate about creating a therapy space where you can show up authentically, reflect, and grow on your own terms. As a Black Queer woman with over a decade of experience as a practicing psychologist, I bring both professional training and lived experience to this work. I know what it’s like to move through spaces where your full self isn’t always seen or welcomed —and I aim to make therapy different. My approach combines a trauma-informed, culturally responsive lens that centers on your lived experience. I provide individual therapy for adults that integrates evidence based practices to fit your specific needs (e.g., CBT, Mindfulness), as well as couples/relationship therapy. My therapy style is compassionate, direct, and affirming. We'll work together to change unhelpful ways of thinking (or doing) and build practical tools for managing anxiety, self-criticism, or emotional overwhelm.
