Introduction

My name is Denise Rothman and I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in North Carolina and Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey. I graduated with my Master's Degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University. I have experience treating children, adolescents, and adults with various difficulties including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, ADHD, developmental disorders, attachment and adjustment disorders. I offer a welcoming, non-judgmental approach in working with my clients to help them achieve personal fulfillment and individual growth. My experience includes private practice and working as an in home therapist with children, adults, and seniors in the community for many years. I have come to appreciate the importance of a supportive family and community environment in the healthy growth and development of all individuals. While my primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioral, I am trained in providing Christian Counseling. I believe that personal change can be effectively initiated by exploring behaviors that are not working well in our lives, and by looking at thought patterns that do not support healthy positive growth. In changing both thought and behavior, people see personal growth and maintain more positive relationships and lifestyles. I am a Certified Trainer in The Nurtured Heart Approach® to treating children and families.
