Introduction

"Creating safer spaces for vulnerability, healing, and deeper connection. Heal the past, transform your present, and grow stronger relationships." Carrie Kane, LMFT Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (NY # 002247) At this time Telehealth Appointments only About Me I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist committed to creating a collaborative, compassionate space where individuals, couples, and families can feel safe to be honest, vulnerable, and connected—both with themselves and each other. I earned my degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Antioch University of New England and am licensed to practice in New York, as well as via telehealth in Vermont. My clinical focus includes trauma-informed care and relationship work, supported by specialized training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Progressive Counting (PC), and the Flash Technique. I also integrate approaches from the Bader & Pearson Developmental Model of Couples Therapy, Bowen Theory, Solution-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Body-Up Co-Regulation. My work is deeply informed by personal and professional insight into intergenerational trauma and the cycles of distress it can perpetuate. I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside many individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging moments. Guided by the wisdom of Pat Parelli—"Take the time it takes so it takes less time"—I believe in honoring each client's pace, while remaining focused on the goals that bring them to therapy. Whether you're navigating the impacts of trauma, grief, relational conflict, or life transitions, I strive to offer a grounded, supportive environment where meaningful change can take root. My passion lies in helping clients heal from the past and build new patterns that support healthier, more fulfilling lives. Billing At this time, I am out-of-network provider only. This means I do not bill insurance companies directly. However, many clients are able to receive partial reimbursement for therapy through their out-of-network benefits. To support this, I provide a monthly superbill (detailed receipt) that you can submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. I recommend contacting your insurance company in advance to confirm your out-of-network mental health benefits. Accepted Payment Methods: Credit or debit cards HSA (Health Savings Account) cards FSA (Flexible Spending Account) cards Tax Deductibility: Therapy is considered a qualifying medical expense under current tax law. If you itemize your deductions, you may be able to deduct the cost of therapy on your taxes. I encourage you to consult with your accountant or Compensation and Benefits Administrator to determine your eligibility for reimbursement or tax deductions. If you have any questions about billing, superbills, or using HSA/FSA funds, please feel free to reach out— I'm happy to assist.
