As a student therapist currently pursuing my doctorate, I strive to empower clients by working collaboratively and allowing you to direct where the session goes. This collaboration will be fueled by my careful attunement to our therapeutic relationship and the safety and openness of the therapeutic space. I use experiential therapy to help find a unique and creative way to address past, present, and future experiences. Our work together will cultivate a creative and adaptable way for you to express how you are feeling emotionally and physically. I work hard to help better connect the mind, body, and spirit as we explore what comes up in session. Through this process, you will learn new ways to identify feelings, challenge stuck points, and create meaningful change in your life. This will be accomplished through careful inquiry, encouraging self-determination, and incorporating skills training such as mindfulness practices to better the mind-body connection. I am especially well-equipped to help individuals who struggle to articulate their emotions by utilizing creative modalities and incorporating mindfulness practices that will be just as flexible and unique to each client. One of the most effective parts of experiential therapy is how it combines talk therapy with connecting your body and emotions, which allows for a specialized way of moving through experiences. This specialized approach involves guiding clients to connect their emotions, bodily sensations, and thoughts about an experience as they arise in the present, allowing you to move through stuck patterns more effectively and lead to deeper insight into yourself. Clients who would benefit most from an experiential approach would be anyone who struggles with intellectualizing their problems, is open to exploring their past feelings and experiences in the moment, seeks to understand behavioral patterns and emotional responses, is looking for help maintaining interpersonal relationships, or is desiring deeper personal growth and self-discovery. Outside of therapy, my interests include camping, hiking, and spending time outside. I enjoy drawing and painting places I have visited, as well as collecting patches from my various travels. I also love listening to music and experimenting with cooking.
