Introduction

Dr. Arianne Suarez Lago is a board-certified psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with extensive training in both adult and child and adolescent psychiatry. She earned her medical degree from the Medical Science Superior Institute de La Habana in Cuba in 2008. She went on to complete her adult psychiatry residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City, followed by a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Over the years, Dr. Suarez Lago has built a well-respected career focused on treating a wide range of mental health conditions, with particular expertise in eating disorders, ADHD, anxiety, and mood disorders across all age groups. She has served as an attending psychiatrist at the Eating Recovery Center in The Woodlands, where she provided specialized care for adolescents and adults struggling with eating disorders. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Suarez Lago has held the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor at UT Health Houston, where she has mentored and supervised child and adolescent psychiatry fellows, particularly in partial hospitalization programs. She is also fluent in Spanish and is known for her warm, culturally sensitive approach to care. Dr. Suarez Lago is committed to integrative, personalized treatment that respects the unique biological, psychological, and social factors affecting each patient. A patient centered approach In line with this commitment to personalized and integrative care, Spring Psychiatry offers comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and diagnosis, along with traditional psychiatry medication management. Furthermore, the clinic will be offering non-invasive treatments and state-of-the-art diagnostic tools, including cutting-edge interventions such as neurofeedback, functional medicine testing, genetic testing, and personalized Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to target conditions including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Major Depressive Disorder (MDD), and Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD). Neuromodulation and testing Neurofeedback is a non-invasive treatment that trains brainwave activity to improve self-regulation and reduce symptoms. For psychiatric symptoms, neurofeedback can help individuals with ADHD improve focus and reduce impulsivity, assist those with anxiety and PTSD in calming overactive brain states, and contribute to mood stabilization in conditions like depression. Personalized TMS (PrTMS )is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that uses magnetic fields to stimulate specific areas of the brain, offering a targeted approach to alleviate symptoms of various neurological and psychiatric disorders. For psychiatric symptoms, TMS can effectively treat severe depression by stimulating underactive brain regions, reduce obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors in OCD, alleviate anxiety and improve mood and address certain symptoms of PTSD and ADHD by modulating brain activity in relevant neural networks. PrTMS is FDA-approved for conditions such as major depressive disorder, it is increasingly being explored for off-label use in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Research suggests that PrTMS may help improve core ASD symptoms by modulating brain activity in regions associated with social communication, repetitive behaviors, and emotional regulation. By precisely targeting neural pathways often implicated in ASD, PrTMS aims to enhance communication skills, improve social interaction, and assist in behavior regulation, potentially leading to a better quality of life for individuals on the autism spectrum. Functional medicine testing aims to identify root causes of health issues by examining biochemical imbalances, nutritional deficiencies, and other systemic factors. This can be particularly beneficial for psychiatric symptoms by revealing underlying issues such as gut dysbiosis, inflammation, or nutrient deficiencies that may contribute to anxiety, depression, brain fog, and other mood or cognitive challenges. Genetic testing through Genomind provides insights into how an individual's genes may influence their response to medications and predispositions to certain conditions, guiding more precise and personalized treatment plans.
