Hi! My name is Anna. I am currently completing a psychology externship under the supervision of Dr. Aaron Jackson while pursuing a doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology at Brigham Young University. As an extern, I meet with Dr. Jackson weekly to consult on cases and am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn from his decades of experience. I also provide individual and group therapy to students through BYU Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS). I am passionate about working with individuals experiencing: • Perinatal and postpartum concerns (stress, depression, anxiety, infertility, miscarriage, birth trauma) • Transition to parenthood & early parenting • Perfectionism and self-criticism • Anxiety and depression • Family stress, relationship dynamics, and boundary setting • Healing from traumatic experiences • Life transitions, loss, and grief • Spirituality, faith, and religious concerns • Identity exploration and formation In my therapeutic work, I often draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Feminist Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT). Additionally, I have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Psychodynamic therapy. I take a collaborative approach to therapy, hoping to create a setting in which I can help each client achieve their goals and hopes for therapy. I understand that each client wants something slightly different from their therapy experience, whether that be safety and understanding or being challenged and pushed. My aim is to help you have a meaningful experience, aligned with your goals, to achieve your hopes for therapy. I am always open to feedback and adjusting accordingly. A bit about me: I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and moved to Utah to attend BYU in 2016. Before pursuing counseling psychology, I received a degree in exercise science. In my free time, I enjoy camping, mountain biking, family time, and introducing my son to new experiences. I currently live in Utah, with my husband and son.
