I’m Amanda Odell, MS, MHP, LMFT, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in Washington since 2015. I work with adults navigating life transitions, burnout, identity exploration, and relationship challenges. These experiences often come with symptoms of anxiety, depression, stress, or trauma. My work centers on helping people feel more confident showing up as their whole, authentic selves. I draw from a range of therapy styles, bringing a collaborative and creative approach to suite your needs each time we meet. Typically, I like to bring experiential, emotion-focused, and IFS (parts) work. I blend in skill-building from evidence-based practices such as CBT and DBT. I'm EMDR trained, through EMDRIA, pursuing certification, to better support clients processing trauma or feeling stuck. These tools help us explore emotions, shift patterns, and reconnect with your inner strengths. I often bring in metaphor, curiosity, and a sense of playfulness to foster insight rooted in the therapeutic relationship. I named my practice Anchored Empowerment Therapy to reflect the deep belief that healing and growth begin by anchoring into your own values, identity, and community, and from there, empowering yourself to live more fully aligned with who you are and who you want to become. And now, the rest of your life is yours to thrive within. I’m committed to offering a therapy environment that is inclusive, affirming, and culturally responsive. I’m mindful of the limitations of my own perspective and participate in ongoing learning and reflection. You are the expert of your life, and our identities are multifaceted—both visible and invisible, and deeply intersectional. Therapy with me isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you reconnect with the parts of yourself that already carry the capacity to heal, through your own wisdom and strengths. If this resonates with you, I'd love to hear from you. Insurance & Pricing: I am currently a private-pay, out-of-network provider. While I don't accept insurance directly, your insurance plan may have out-of-network benefits, which means that they will reimburse you for a portion of our session cost. Plans that typically accept out-of-network providers include: PPO plans, POS plans, Tricare Select, and Original Medicare. However, plans do vary greatly between companies and programs. I have partnered with Thrizer to handle the out-of-network process automatically for you. With Thrizer, you will only have to pay a copay for our sessions post-deductible, instead of paying my full fee and waiting for reimbursements. This typically allows clients to save on average 70% upfront on our sessions. During our intake process, I can help you verify if you have out-of-network benefits and how much your copay would be. I can check your benefits for you with a free estimate. For any session fees, Thrizer does charge either 1% or 5% of my fee, depending on how quickly you want your reimbursement. If you want to avoid the 1-5% charge from Thrizer, I can provide you a superbill for you to work with your insurance directly. My cost per 50-minute session is $180. EMDR: I offer EMDR intensives, which are 90 minute sessions, at $270 per session. This allows longer processing for EMDR sets. Please let me know if you are interested in this so I can schedule with you accordingly. You may also schedule 50-minute EMDR sessions at the typical $180 session rate. I am comfortable providing EMDR-adjunct therapy, meaning, you stay with your current therapist and meet with me only for EMDR processing. This requires an EMDR assessment (at the 50-minute session rate) to determine if you and your therapist are a candidate for this set up. Special Populations: Therapists, Educators, and Healthcare Workers: I have years of experience working with those who are the "helpers" of our community, in both healthcare and school-system settings. Caregivers: As both a parent and parent-educator, I have a deep passion for working with parents at every age and stage in the parenting journey. I have been a certified Positive Discipline educator since 2015. Military: Finally, I started my desire to work in this field as a military spouse unsuccessful in finding a therapist who "gets it". Military- and Veteran-connected life comes with their own intricacies. I want to help you navigate these experiences by finding tools that work for you, in a non-judgmental, empathetic space.
